Natural Philosophy

Not long ago, in terms of human history, physics, mathematics and even state-of-the-art technology were the domain of natural philosophers. These were the few, brilliant thinkers that spent their efforts in an attempt to understand the world around them. Some were steeped in mysticism with mystical explanations of strictly physical and chemical phenomena while others held more immanent views describing even emotion and reason in physical terms. Some jealously guarded their hard won knowledge and ideas and some shared their secrets prolifically. What they all have in common is that we now build on the views we inherited from them.

The intention is to fill this page with links to more pages with concise descriptions of philosophical works of the greats like Spinoza, Thāles of Miletus, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Hume, Hobbes, Kant even Heisenberg and more. But, as always, this is a work in progress.
